The 2018 Clean Cities Coalitions Activity Report helps quantify accomplishments and the impact of the Clean Cities coalitions. The report shows that Clean Cities coalitions in 2018 had a year of many successful projects.
The data indicate that the Energy Use Impact (EUI) is over 1 billion GGE for activities reported by coalitions in 2018. Overall, Clean Cities coalition accomplishments maintained a high level and improved over 2017.
Coalition efforts continued to increase the number and diversity of Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFVs) and advanced technology vehicles on U.S. roads in 2018.
The combined efforts of local Clean Cities coalitions, DOE, and its National Laboratories bring together many different groups/stakeholders to leverage people, funding, and resources, to accelerate the nation’s progress in increasing domestic fuel use, improving energy security, and reducing emissions.
Clean Cities Coalitions achieved nearly 7:1 leveraging of the $37.8 million that was included in the Vehicle Technologies Office (VTO) Technology Integration budget for FY2018. Coalitions leveraged nearly $7 of project funding for every $1 directed to coalitions by DOE.
