Applied Research Center of Alabama
Central Alabama Electric Cooperative is a not for profit, member-owned electric distribution utility serving more than 45,000 meters in a 10-county area of central Alabama just north of Montgomery. The cooperative’s service area covers most of the rural areas of Autauga, Elmore, Coosa and Chilton counties as well as members in Tallapoosa, Talladega, Bibb, Perry, Dallas and Lowndes counties. The cooperative is a $334 million company with 6,000 miles of electric distribution line and 2,000 miles of fiber line serviced by over 135 employees.

APGA was established in 1939. It has been a valuable source of information and training for individuals involved in the propane gas industry as well as a source of information for consumers. The purpose of APGA is to serve its membership by combining the resources of all segments of the propane gas industry in promoting the growth of the industry and the many benefits of propane as a superior energy source.

Bullock County Development Authority (BCDA)
The Bullock County Development Authority (BCDA), led by David Padgett, provides focus and direction to the county's business development efforts. The BCDA supports the County by helping to improve Education, Agriculture, and Industry.
Some of these programs include the annual Community Revitalization Program for existing businesses, support of the Franklin Field Airport Authority, recruitment of industrial and retail businesses, and workforce development projects at the High School and Community College level. The BCDA is focused on building an environment for recruiting businesses that provide skilled jobs, increasing tax revenues, and providing a rural-based agritourism destination.
