A $25.5 Million CNG, Propane and Electric Opportunity in Alabama

ADECA has been designated by Governor Ivey to administer the Volkswagen Settlement in Alabama.  $25.5M will be available to the state for transportation projects that reduce emissions in the state. ADECA is holding regional Public Information and Listening Sessions throughout the state in the next few weeks (see attached schedule) to provide information about the settlement and gather input for the development of a spending plan for the funds.

2018 Fuel Economy Guide Now Available

Just in time for the New Year, the 2018 Fuel Economy Guide is now available at FuelEconomy.gov. The guide is published annually by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with data on current model year (MY) vehicles. This recent EERE blog highlights this year's guide.

Electric vehicle expo draws a crowd to UAB

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  —  Birmingham joined cities across the country on Friday as host of a National Drive Electric Week expo at UAB, sponsored by the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition, Alabama Power, Southern Research and Birmingham’s Zero Emissions Owners Group.

UAB played host to scores of owners of electric vehicles and representatives of alternative fuels industry who shared information about how driving electric saves money on fuel and maintenance and helps decrease our nation’s dependence on foreign oil.
